The hiker, whose name was not released, was injured in a wooded area off East Street near Peppercorn Hill Conservation Area on Tuesday, Jan. 24, Upton police said.

Crews used drones and an ATV to find them. But the terrain was rough, and the only way to get them to a doctor was to carry the injured hiker about a mile out of the snowy wilderness. They were being treated at Milford Regional Medical Center.

Authorities did not release an update on their condition.
